The history of Amaro Averna began in Caltanissetta, deep in the heart of Sicily. The Benedictine monk, Father Girolamo, gave a secret recipe to his friend Salvatore Averna. The recipe was for his 'amaro', a special herbal liqueur. This recipe has ever since been fiercely guarded and passed down for four generations. But this much we will divulge: traditional Sicilian herbs of rosemary and thyme, roots, bark, berries and citrus peel are all lovingly combined. Guaranteed not to contain colourings or added flavourings.
